Hugo Selenski Double Homicide Trial Part 1: After 12 long years of a double homicide murder trial a jury found Hugo Selenski guilty of first degree murder on February 11th, 2015. The bodies of Michael Kerkowski and his girlfriend Tammy Fassett were discovered in Selenski’s yard back in 2003. The trial lasted 14 days and the jury deliberated for almost two days. I was the only student journalist to attend the trial that got national attention.
Hugo Selenski Part 2: Many people are fascinated by the Hugo Selenski case including Max Benjamin of Kingston. Benjamin attended the trial everyday since it began; he discusses the types of evidence provided in the courtroom.
Bishop Joseph Bambera Reads to Children at Catholic Youth Center: The United Way of the Wyoming Valley’s Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration to promote reading. Bishop Bambera was one of the 25 guest readers to visit 17 local preschools. I had the chance to speak with Bishop Bambera about the Catholic Youth Centers partnership with The United Way.
